Birch Road Well Restoration Project

by Gordon on November 28, 2009

The Town of Framingham has proposed to reactivate and restore what are called the “Birch Road” wells. The benefit to the town is a reduction in the cost of water currently purchased from the MWRA. Located adjacent to the North Pond of Lake Cochituate, there is great concern about the impact on water levels in the lake. Additional opposition is being raised by other communities who believe that if Framingham pulls out of the MWRA it will result in increased cost to them.
